I'm another LA transplant who moved here from AZ 3 years ago, and I love it Randy Newman-style. Seriously.
I'm a man who enjoys the simple things in life. Good food, good beer, good music and good friends is all it takes to make me happy. I'm fiercely loyal to the people I love, and I stand up for my principles even if it's gotten me in trouble in the past. Materialism ain't my bag. Anthony Bourdain is my hero, he has the best job in the world, I think.
For fun I enjoy anything physical, especially something where I get to be outdoors. I like riding my bike around town, that's always fun. Except when I get doored, that part sucks. I have a dream of one day riding my bike on a solo cross country tour from LA to NYC (Manhattan Beach, CA to Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn, NY - how cool would that be?)
My main hobby is DJing, been doing it for 8 years now. I have an awesome vinyl collection that I've been building since high school. Musically I like a lot of stuff, but I usually gravitate towards old school hip-hop, funk/soul and electronic sounds. I'm a huge football fan, got season tickets to the Chargers down in SD so if you like football that's a huge plus! But if you're a Bronco, Raider or Patriot fan you might as well hit the back button now, it simply wouldn't work between us.
As for my personality I'm a lover of knowledge...I like wasting time online learning about lots of random stuff so Wikipedia is one of my favorite websites. You can find out all kinds of fascinating things on there. For instance, fan death! Go ahead, look up "fan death" on there and prepare to be amazed. I have some geeky interests but not really one I focus on, so I'm like a jack of all nerds, master of none. I like to sit and ponder pointless things. Like, how is it that Big League Chew is still around? It's a children's gum made to look like chewing tobacco for crying out loud. You'd think parent groups would be all over that.
As for my perfect match, I'm looking for someone with intelligence, maybe a little ****iness. (OK, that word is censored apparently. I guess a better way to put it is, I'm looking for someone with Moxie. Either the personality or the soda because Moxie is pretty tasty) I have a soft spot in my heart for geeks as well.
Something chill and low-key for a first meeting - something where we can talk and get to know each other, like a breakdance battle. But as for an actual date I'd love to go back to the Hollywood Bowl. I went there to see a DJ Shadow show a few years ago and loved it. If not that then something where we can be active, like a bike ride down the South Bay bike trail, or a hike.
