Tell me who you love and I will tell you who you are. (Houssaye)

My hope is to find a good guy who knows himself and is confident but not arrogant, and who has a really good sense of humor (in a kind way - I don't like humor at the expense of others). I smile at the thought of returning home after a long day to someone I respect, trust with my deepest emotions, and who truly "gets it" that one good hug from him removes whatever the day tossed at me because of how much he means to me. A guy who is equally happy going out for a romantic dinner as he is just experimenting in the kitchen, sipping wine and being comfortable in each other's company, after we've spent the day hiking, or raking leaves, or (fill in any outdoor activity - including sleigh riding)! Cozy nights by the fire have their own special magic ... I had ALL of this once upon a time ... and I know how it completed me. I hold fast to the hope that it can and will happen again ...

Other Stuff
I have a really neat job that I love. Seriously. I look forward to going to work each day; however, I make certain that my work does not consume me (I enjoy too many other activities!). That said, if you hate your job -- or are otherwise given to seeing life's glass as half empty -- we won't be compatible.

I'm very straightforward and won't lie - unless an untruth is more kind and has no lasting consequences (example: "Yes, of course I love my combination eyelash curler-tire jack birthday gift, my sweet little niece!"). I don't believe in dancing around with people's emotions nor pretending I am someone I am not - it serves no purpose. I've been told by those who really know/love me that I am kind, generous, thoughtful, and sensitive (and can leap tall buildings in a single bound!) -- and I do have a very healthy (and yes, sometimes irreverent!) sense of humor.

That about buttons it up ... don't like wasting anyone's time (including my own). I am good to go -- that is, steady path to further discoveries on this site with the hope of finding someone who shares my positive outlook, my love of the ocean (!) and sailing, and who sincerely believes that love makes all things possible.

To save the both of us time: Please immediately recast if you honestly believe that sharing a photo of your motorcycle, boat, etc., (without you even being IN that photo) has anything to do with what might attract me to you. If the information you have chosen to currently share does not contain even a whisper about your heart, that's another recast. Am I particular? Some may, in error, put that label on it -- but I'll know you when I find you ... when you find me ...

PS In addition to a car (!), I have a bike, ice skates, an old surfboard, and a well used tennis racket (I was a fairly decent player in college) ... I stay active and am fit. Which IS something I seek in a partner, within "reason."

First date? I think it would be more of a "first meet," which I would prefer. Initially, let's meet for a drink and chat a bit. No pressure -- just to determine if there's any sort of connection. And if things go well, then we can look forward to/plan for an actual "date" -- perhaps a casual spot for dinner at the Jersey shore.
