About Me
Hello.
Just a single guy living on the lake (Erie) who basically spends his free time on his bike or lounging on the deck reading (and tries not to refer to himself in the third person). Anyway ... I'm 41 and am putting myself on the dating block (sort of like an auction block, but with less ego crushing when you find out how much/little people think of you).
Type of person that I would like to meet? The smartass side of me wants to say "beggars can't be chosers", but in reality I think that if we are only looking for one certain type then we are blind to opportunities that present themselves. Friends would say that if you have red hair then you would be perfect, but while red hair is an attraction, your personality is what keeps the relationship going. I mean that if you are a kitten-drowning psycho that collects human ears, even your red hair isn't going to make me stay. Of course, it all matters on you. Red hair, but not interested in me? Nothing I can do about it. Red hair is not the be all and end all of it. It just concerns initial attraction. There has to be some sort of mutual spark between us that our personalities can either enhance or destroy. Own a motorcycle or at least like them (I own a sport bike)? Like the nice guy type over the bad boy? The bar scene that you are used to is more of a pool hall or coffee house than loud dance bars? I am trying to get back into mountain biking and have finally picked up my kayak (since I am on the water I might as well use it). So if any of these interest you drop me a line. I do have a brother that lives in Bermuda that I try to visit once a year. It would be much nicer if I could spend the day with someone while he and his wife are at work. I know ... I am a horrible/desperate person to pimp my brother out like that, but it is just something to think about...
First Date
First date or first meeting? Meeting would take place at the standard coffee shop(sidewalk cafe in warm weather or wherever you feel comfortable) to test the waters and not to put too much pressure on us. If it is successful then the conversation would decide where the first date would be. Visit Point Pelee or try a new restaurant in Detroit/Windsor? Detroit Zoo or ride to Chatham along the river road (motorcycles in warmer weather)? Try the local pool hall or visit the DIA? There is all manner of outside influences that can effect the decision. Let's just see if you're interested first...
