About Me
...or maybe just a renaissance man. What do you think?
I'm of both German and Jewish descent. A meat-eating animal lover. A Christian evolutionist. A pyrotechnics enthusiast who enjoys crafts and writing poetry. A college degreed engineer who loves to cook and aspires to own a restaurant. I'm very organized but my house always seems to be a mess. World's worst golfer who still loves to play. A white-collar worker who fits better in the blue-collar world. Very frugal but give freely to friends, family, and good causes. I have two guitars and no musical talent. I'm a Republican who's passionate about recycling and alternative energy. A PA Dutchman who loves spicy food. I could go on, but I'll spare you... for now. I am not looking to fix any of this, by the way. I like who I am. Maybe there is a renaissance woman out there who understands me.
Besides all that... I'm an honest, loyal, good friend. I'm a handyman who will attempt to fix, build, or install just about anything. I have recently become interested in paranormal investigation. I love hot food, especially Indian, Thai, and Mexican. I enjoy outdoor activities, live music, travel, and deep conversation. I'm a wannabe storm-chaser and author. And I love kids, pets, and family-oriented activities.
Dislikes are important to list, too, I suppose. Most importantly, I do not smoke and do not date smokers. I don't like when people type in all caps, can't spell or use punctuation properly, or don't know the difference between "then" and "than", "your" and "you're", etc. I prefer the mountains to the beach. I don't dance, swim, or sing, and I am not a thrill-seeker. Excessive make-up, fake eyebrows, etc. are a big turn-off. I am allergic to cats, but love dogs and just about any other kind of pet. I prefer rock, alternative, and heavy metal, but can tolerate just about all kinds of music except country, rap, hip-hop, and opera. And I don't eat organs. Those are the highlights. Hope this gives you an idea of who I am.
First Date
Hmmm... take your pick! I think a first date should be mutually agreed upon and fun for all. Something that will allow for good conversation, too -- getting to know each other is very important. I am not good at being "first-date fake", so when you see me, it will be me. Granted, this m.o. doesn't always guarantee a second date, but that's life... I'd rather be honest from the start. When there is a second date, though, you'll always know who to expect. I am also pretty slow with the romance... I've learned the "friends first" approach is best for both parties, even if there happens to be instant chemistry. Best to build the foundation first. What's the rush, right?
