I'm interested in dating leading toward a long term relationship.

I've worked hard all my life, since the age of twelve. I supported my own studies, and spent my life trying to help people realize their full potential through education, social services and philanthropy. My friends and professional colleagues used to say I was "intense". My work was very important to me. But now I prefer the word "passionate". What's important to me now is fun, good health, and, finding a great woman. According to a very smart, beautiful philanthropic executive friend of mine, passion keeps us vibrant and energetic. (Want to know what I'm talking about? Read "Why Passion Matters" in the June 2009 Reader's Digest.) Having goals and going for them.....Caring about something or someone outside of ourselves. These make life worth the trip. My friend made this point in a speech once, and I never forgot it. (I used to write her speeches, but not this one.) I have lived and worked in 4 of the major metropolitan areas in the U.S., enjoy an active lifestyle, which could get more active with you to accompany me to the gym, salsa dancing, picnics, movies, the beach, hiking the mountains near my house, and so many other fun activities. Love the indoors, as well. I cook, like music, concerts, Dexter, Brotherhood, Californication, the History Channel. I am as comfortable in jeans as I am in a suit or a tux. I read mysteries and historical novels. My photo might be a bit fuzzy, it was hard getting it on here. But, don't worry, like Joe Namath (ex quarterback for the NY Jets ong time ago) used to say, I get better lookin' every day. Can't wait 'til tomorrow. (LOL)

I have not been in a relationship of any consequence in over two years. But it's what I'm seeking.

It really depends on our first, or second, or... phone conversation. I might suggest a wine tasting, as I have recently started to enjoy this activity and have a few wines in my collection. After this, if we have decided we "click", we might have dinner at a jazz club I like, or go dancing, or something..... I am always open to suggestions. I do not like coffee dates as I only drink coffee in the morning. But an ice cream date could be considered almost decadent.
