For me, first dates come after good email and good phone. Then probably a neutral site at a restaurant to break bread and talk....do that "two dogs sniffing" thing where two human beings risk friendship by asking and answering questions. Prefer that eyeball-to-eyeball "sit down" to watching a movie or anything that shifts focus from each other.

Farther down the line, if things worked out, would be setting up a portable hammock out in the high desert on a moonless night and snuggling together under warm blankets while stargazing and chatting.
