| | Like most people I have no idea what I'm doing. Just decided that its time for a change, and thought I'd give this a try. Life is too short to just sit back and wait for things to happen, sometimes it takes somebody to give you a little push in the right direction. So, what I'm I looking for? Don't know.... Does anybody really know?
I know for sure what I don't want at this point in life. I look around at a lot of my friends, married, with a large mortgage, 2 kids and a mini van, and I want nothing to do with it. Perhaps they have just moved onto the next step in life, however, I'm no where close to that. I'm not at the point in life where I have to be sensible, and am going to enjoy it for as long as possible. Will I get to that point in life.... Maybe... Maybe not... That's the great thing about the future... Its not written yet...
I'm looking for somebody to share life with. The good and the bad. And if it turns into something more, then great... I'm in no hurry... You only get one shot at life, so why rush it.
I'm looking for a women to do fun stuff with, skiing, trips, dinners... All the things that my friends who have "grown up" and gotten married, don't seem to be able to do anymore. I don't need somebody in my life, I want somebody, but I'm fine on my own.
I really enjoy being single. I look around at my married friends, and for some reason they are no longer able to just do stuff. Maybe its just me, but if I decided to head to the cottage at 11:30 at night on a Friday, I'm going to go.
If I want to take an extra day off work, and do for a 4 day road trip to the east coast of the U.S., then I'm going... I have nobody stopping me, nobody holding me back, and I love it that way.
Am I a party person... No..
Am I a "player" No...
Am I happy in life.. Yes..
Would I change anything in life, if I could start over? For the most part, no.
I enjoy going out of my way to help my friends. My family comes first. Don't take family for granted, because someday they may be gone. I stick to my word. You have to be honest with yourself first, before you can be honest with others.
Sometimes I can be too trusting, and have learned some things in life the hard way because of that. I have found there is a fine line between "fun" and "nuts"... I seem to be attracted to "nuts" and while "nuts" seem fun, its more trouble then I need.
I have become the second parent of a 6year old lab, and she is my buddy. She loves going for rides in the Jeep, and all the normal dog related stuff, getting in the lake at the cottage, rolling in stuff, chasing a tennis ball, stick, or whatever else she gets her teeth into. She knows when we are heading out for a walk or a run, but I can't stand the sad look I get when I have to go to work, and leave her at home.
I've done road trips to both sides of Canada, just because I could. There's nothing like waking up one day, and deciding that your going to take a month out of life and drive to B.C. Would love to travel more, but without a travel partner, it gets difficult. I can't sit still, I love to always be on the move. I can't stand sitting on the couch, watching TV, flipping thur the channels, just wasting time. Not that I don't enjoy movies and TV, but The Simpsons are only on so much.
A good weekend to me starts about mid-Friday, I tend to mentally check out of work early if I'm looking forward to the time off. Heading off to the cottage, taking the Jeep off-roading, or in the winters heading off to the ski resort. And I always take the backroads to the resort. Sometimes, after a fresh dumping of snow, the drive on the unplowed roads is an adventure in itself. Whats the point to driving a 4x4 in the winter, if you don't get to really use it? I've learn just stay out of the ditches, and it makes the entire day more funner... (and yes, I just made up a new word)
I'm a huge Jeep and off-road nut. There's nothing more relaxing then heading off with a group of like minded Jeep people and heading into the woods to see what our Jeeps will do. I can't stand sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the hwy, but will very happily spend all day to go 2km's in the woods. Go figure?
What am I looking for in a women.. Not sure... I know she better have just as sharp as sense of humor as I do just to keep up. And she must like stupid things...
The only thing I do know is that I'd rather her to be my best friend first, and girlfriend second.
I'm 31 years old, and some how, I just figured out that if you boil hotdogs they come out way better then microwaving them. How did I miss this?
Three years ago I was dead set against text messaging, and now I'm a crackberry addict. Strange how technology can take over our lives.
I also seem to have the ability to put all my thoughts directly into writing. As anyone who has read this far down in my profile may have guessed by now.
