How does anyone describe themselves without sounding phony, pretentious, or boring?

Ok, I'm just like you.....I have the usual anatomical parts but with my own DNA. I'm about as real as they get. My life is busy but uncomplicated. I'm a single parent of one kid and I work in healthcare. I'm probably not your typical female. I have no problem chillin on the couch watching a good football game or a race, but I'm also up for playing in the ocean or a good mountain hike as well. And unlike the majority of women, I love cars! Muscle cars, classic cars, antiques - you name it. Right now, the new Camaro has really got my attention. Music is big in my world. I have very eclectic tastes. I like most music, but not a huge fan of country or rap. I'm serious about my job, but I sure like having plenty of fun too. Laughing is one of my favorite things to do. I'm not a high maintenance person, but I have high standards and I don't settle.

I love meeting new people and making new friends. I know good people come in all different shapes, sizes, ages and nationalities, but everyone should have some idea of the type of person they are attracted to. I'm far from perfect, so I'm definitely not expecting perfection from anyone else. I live a clean and reasonably healthy life, and physically I'm doing well for my 4+ decades. That's all I could expect from anyone else.

I have a big heart and I can be the best friend in the world to any good and decent person. I'll feed anyone who is hungry, protect someone who can't defend themself, or hug someone who's having a bad day, but I refuse to let anyone take advantage of me. To all you players looking for a cheap hook-up: Don't waste your time here.

I love warm weather and the beach. There's a lot to be said for burying my toes in warm sand and riding the waves. My kind of day! I'm not a big fan of cold weather because it forces me to wear shoes and far too many clothes!

I have a great career as a respiratory therapist, and besides being a mom, I have found it to be one of the most rewarding (and exhausting) aspects of my life. That being said, I don't care for cigarette smoke. I see the insidious nature of tobacco addiction from the healthcare aspect. Smokers have their prerogatives and their right to destroy their health, but their lips will never touch mine. Ok, jumping off my pulpit now.... :)

My most important and rewarding job is being a mom. That role is the best part of my life. I have a teenage daughter, who sometimes gets on my nerves, but who also is the most beautiful and impressive human being I have ever met. She'll be in college in a year, so somehow I'll have to remember what I did when I didn't share my home with her.

I love mexican food and I make a mean enchilada. I love coffee and the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. I don't like cooked carrots.

I think it would sound better to say.....the first time to meet in person......
Cup of coffee?
Cocktails at a quiet place?
Maybe an art museum?

I think the possibilities are endless for two people with a little imagination.
