About Me
I'm equal parts cerebral and silly, often at the same time. That's bad for business meetings, but good for life since it lets me experience, enjoy and occasionally understand more than I might otherwise.
I'm a professional writer and editor, and I've worked as a newspaper reporter, press spokesman, PR supervisor, and speechwriter. I'm now the senior writer at a global education-services company in Princeton. Very secure, very stable, very hard for me to believe I get paid to write and edit. On my own time, I'm finishing up a novel. My freelance humor credits include The New York Times and various NPR programs. I'm still waiting for the funny part of online dating.
When I'm not writing, Swiffering the kitchen or wasting good wisdom on my kids, I volunteer for a well-known constitutional-rights group reviled by the right and for a local no-kill animal shelter, probably also reviled by the right. I'd love to win the lottery, open a sanctuary for strays on 30 acres someplace warm, and share the balance of my millions with my partner. Could it be you?
I'm fit and athletic but I don't wear baseball caps (that's a golf cap in the photo; I try to play at least once every three years), and I'd rather go to a game than watch one on TV. In fact, I can't remember the last game I watched on TV other than Olympic beach volleyball, which isn't really a sport anyway. Lacrosse and soccer are sports, and I've coached my daughters' teams. They're 15 and 13. They don't need another mother. Me, neither.
It's not necessary for my match to be just as comfortable in a little black dress as in soft, old sweatpants. I know I'm not. I don't even own a pair of sweatpants.
I'd love to meet someone who's a bit quirky or at least finds that appealing in others; is confident in her femininity; has a strong, playful personality and a good sense of humor (witty, absurd, sardonic, sarcastic, deadpan, dry as sheetrock are all good); likes the arts; is passionate about something; and is open to new things.
Oh, and neuroses are fine and can be lots of fun. But serious disorders aren't so fine or fun. Neither is excessive religiosity. That's just crazy talk. On the other hand, superstitions make perfect sense to me.
I enjoy cuddling, kissing and long walks, but aren't they all so much better with someone else?
Cheers!

Low-key, low-pressure -- meet up at the dog park with your mutt and mine; coffee; lunch; bank heist; glass of wine.
