Whether sailing on an endless body of water or bicycling my favorite path along a river on a clear autumn day or hiking a path thick with deep dark green leaves and a fresh blue sky, I enjoy physical activities and having an active outdoor life. These all require a strength and endurance, so I take care of myself by working out.

I love the feel of the rhythm when I dance salsa. I practice it at least once a week. One of my greatest joys is when my dance partner and I are smiling from ear-to-ear as we finish a turn or a complete salsa combination. I'm always looking for a partner who enjoys feeling the rhythm deep inside, and can express it. Don't worry about getting it all right if you are still learning - messing up a complex combination is half the fun of learning ... the other half is the time we can spend laughing when we step wrong or crash into each other! I found the best two places in Dallas to dance, by the way: 1) my livingroom; 2) your livingroom.

I am very European in my upbringing, which includes a strong sense of being a gentleman. It sounds crazy to include this, but I sympathize with any of you ladies who have dated men with not-so-good hygene. I hear about it all the time on this site, which blows my mind. How can guys hope to find a quality woman unless they keep myself very clean and fresh-smelling?... Duh!!!

OK, some serious stuff: There are women for whom the thought of family and children and sensible conservative values is not their interest. I am looking for a woman who understands that femininity is not a four-letter word and appreciates men who are not wussies. I like children, as my 7 y.o. daughter will attest, and actively get involved in their lives. I'm not their Dad, but they know I care. My relationships are based on respect, trust, affection, and love - it's pretty simple, really. Women who have had multiple failed marriages and are proud of it don't fit into my interest category along with yelling, cigarettes, booze, or women who are trying to be men. There are squishy guys out there who acquiesce to that nonsense and want women to make all the decisions in a relationship - not me. There are plenty of matches for women like this, but I'll save those women some time right now and let them know now that I'm not their guy. OK - enough grumbling, already!... : )

I've ballroom danced for about 20 years, and learned something very interesting: almost all women love strong, assertive, confident men who lead them through the dance floor as long as the men have the intelligence and sensitivity to lead the women to a place and position where they want to be, and where the women can look and feel their best...I cannot think of a better analogy for a good relationship between men and a women!
