some people would say that i can be the life of the party. thats not to say that i party all the time but i do believe in making people smile and laugh at a party. i am currently a musician in the navy. music is my life. i perform many styles from classical to jazz etc. my forte is classical music. i listen to just about everything although i would have to say that i especially love jazz music. smooth jazz is good but i'm into be-bop and cool jazz (miles davis was a genius). i would like to meet someone who has a good head on her shoulders and has some sort of direction in her life. i would also like to meet someone with confidence and not arrogance. someone who knows how to be upfront with people is a must. since i've joined the navy i have literally received the same text message after dating a girl for a few weeks "i'm not ready...its me not you...i don't think i can give you the attention you deserve". just tell me that you want to get back with your ex (its happened before) or that you don't want to date a smoker (that's also happened) or that your parents don't want you to be with a black guy (i'm also half filipino...but again, that's happened). i'm a grown man and after a few weeks if you are not interested in me, let me know. i can take it. i'm more into personality than the average guy. i won't lie...i am a guy so looks are also somewhat of a factor, but i don't need some supermodel who is constantly trying to doll herself up (i am a sucker for gorgeous eyes and a big smile). i believe in taking chances. you can't experience true happiness unless you have accepted and taken the risk of pain. if i really think that a girl is awesome inside and out, i will ask her out on a date, no matter what obstacles are in the way (with the exception of whether or not i am in a relationship, of course). there could be a chance the she is the one and if i don't give it a try, i'll never know. that is something that i will always live by. i know that en route to that perfect someone for me i will encounter many painful experiences but its all a learning curve. well if you aren't extremely bored from my personal novel into my psyche and you are still interested, please hit me up.

i am normally up for just a dinner and a drink or two. i don't want to give it all away but i do want to engage in some stimulating conversation...that means you talk, i listen, and then i talk, you listen ;) a successful first date is not one in which we have a great time and then you call your friends and tell them about the date for hours. i want it to be one in which all you can say is "we had a great time, i can't wait to see him again...is it saturday yet?" i want you to look forward to date two.
