Still searching for that adventurous soul who can keep up and challenge me!

A very helpful new friend from this site suggested I add the following to my profile: "warm, patient, gentle, caring, attentive, GOOD COMMUNICATOR, good cook, loves life, friendship and family is important, nature is a must, tall but like a big teddy bear..." Not sure about the good cook part, but it's nice to have positive feedback:)
Hiking is my passion, whether it be mornings up South Mountain or bigger challenges like Siphon Draw or a Grand Canyon Rim to Rim in one day.

Adventure is the spice of life - skydiving, whitewater rafting, legally driving really fast on the German Autobahn (what a rush) or scuba diving with the giant mantas in Costa Rica. Frequent trips to wine country, Rocky Point and San Diego are also fun but many more destinations are on the list: Macchu Piccu, Australia... What's on yours? Life is good has always been my mantra, so a positive mental attitude is key.
Mostly I enjoy being home - making healthy meals, watching movies or games, or just relaxing in the pool and spa listening to a wide variety of music - mostly new/classic/alt rock, but also R&B/blues/pop/oldies/new age. Always up for sushi or hot and spicy at Los Dos Molinos or Star of India every couple of weeks
Similarlities I seek: honesty/integrity, intelligence, confidence, strong/independent minded, fun banter, a big heart with an open mind, financially stable and balanced, but likes to party it up from time to time!
Preferences: tall, progressive, tolerant with a healthy growth of body, mind and spirit perspective. Didn't have children in my previous long term relationship (18 yrs) but I enjoy being an uncle many times over as I'm from a large family; however those who are empty nesters (or close to it) or similarly childless have the flexibility I prefer. If you enjoy going to sporting events we really should touch base - football is winding down but ASU hoops season is in gear now so it would be nice to bring someone other than my buddies to the games (have awesome season tickets), the Suns are looking great this year and it looks like the Rattlers may be back in business next year!
Meet for a glass of wine is typical, but if you're a hiker, a unique first date is a fairly easy, little known trail on the north side of South Mountain to a wash with hundreds of Indian petroglyphs - very cool place. But hey, it's just a first meet, no pressure, it's just nice to be out getting to know someone new!
