I love the outdoors and I cant wait to start skiing and snowboarding soon. I enjoy going to the gym and keeping myself fit.

To My Mother

Ten thousand seeds of hate were sown
From each has sprung a cross
Each represents some Mother's son
And each an arching loss.

Ten thousand markers lined in row
And for each some Mother's tears
And each has grown in an instant
To establish some loved one's fears

So grieve not my mother for thy son
Tho'lost to you he's not alone
Ten thousand comrades have joined in hands
And are marching to the Throne.

He's found the peace which comes to all
He's free from wordly care
No living hurt can touch him now
No pain he'll suffer there.

Worry not My Mother, thy son is safe
Wasted not your years of love
For each tear you've shed, each loving kiss
He's treasuring up above.

He's earned the sleep he now enjoys
He hears no earthly sound
Cares he not for this world's tomorrow
For an everlasting peace He's found.

Tho' the din of battle rages O'er his bier
His ear is deaf to warring men
Heeds he not to blast or shell
He questions neither why nor when.

He's in a land of lasting joy
He's basking in Heaven's delight
Where there are no fears of the morrow
And there is no wakeful night.

He's in trust within the Saviour's fold
Protected by Heaven's power
So grieve not they Son, my Mother
In this your twilight hour.

This was one of my grandfathers poems. He wrote it for his mother during WW2 after his brother died near Italy. He thought it may help her, and help her broken heart.
I keep this poem close to me always. I have my papy tattooed on me. Family means the world to me.
