About Me
Hi, my friend Max often says that I look like a friendly bear, and that's why random people will always come up and talk to me. I don't know if that is a good or bad thing, but I suppose that I'm comfortable with it. I think it's funny that he says this about me. Life really is too short to not have a good time, and when you enjoy the people that you're with, you can really be doing anything and have a blast. I believe in the saying that we work to live, and not live to work. Don't get me wrong, I've worked my tail off to get where I am, and I take my job very seriously... But if you can't enjoy the view, then why climb the mountain? I take a lot of pride in the people who I care about, and the life that I've made for myself, but I try to always remain humble, regardless of my successes. I'm comfortable with who I am, and I'm always quick to make fun of myself when I inevitably make some stupid mistake. It's sometimes easy to lose sight of how truly great you have it, compared to those less fortunate. One thing that I do try to do is give back, by sharing my abilities and successes with others that need it. I've made it a hobby to fix and/or build almost anything, or at least try to... I highly recommend it, because you can never go wrong. Either you look like a genius for fixing something, or what you were working on was just a piece of crap and couldn't be fixed. You can't lose! :-) I don't smoke, but it doesn't bother me if others do, and I really enjoy the smell of pipe tobacco. It has this kind of sweet scent that you can almost taste. Little things like that are neat. I love the outdoors, playing hockey, and working on all kinds of things. I like to cook, and eat what I make. The lousy stuff I give away. ha. I work as a professor of chemistry and physics. I know, big dork, huh? :-) It can be a lot of work, but I'd being lying if I said that I didn't think that my job is anything but fantastic. Every day there is a challenge and a reward. Enough about me. How about you? Talk to you soon.
First Date
It's the company, not the location, that makes the perfect date. What we would do is negotiable, and certainly depends upon the interests of the fair-sexed participant.... Hmmmm, well, I suppose there are some limitations. I probably would not be interested in, say, a competitive hot dog eating contest as a first date, or watching a teletubbies marathon.
