About Me
I'm a pretty straightforward guy, a good-natured mixture of woodsy geek and intellectual gardener. I enjoy simple, beautiful things. I love my kids. I talk to my dog. I like to read outdoors. I think flea markets are cool. I like the smell of sawdust. I still listen to the Pogues. I sometimes carry a tin whistle. I have a favorite winter hat. One or many of these things are essential on a given day.
An elementary school teacher for 12 years, I currently manage a non-profit program that combines people, fun, and the outdoors. My work keeps me young; we'll get along well if you have a youthful affect, too.
I have recently: painted the bathroom, installed the fixtures, made an Easy Bake cake with my daughter, played Halo with my son, played (and lost) Mousetrap, Kerplunk, and Don't Spill the Beans, finished one book and started another, washed the dog, wandered along trails, made soup, researched chickens, watched the stars, listened to the wind, threw a football, and watered the plants. I did not, however, visit the city, go to a club, battle traffic, work out at a gym, travel to another country, put on a suit, go to bed angry, lose sleep, or feel old. I dress the same for work as play, and am generally most content in what might be charitably described as a scruffy but comfortable state. That said, I clean up nicely when the occasion warrants and can more than hold my own in even the most straight-laced settings.
That's me in a nutshell. If you'd like to know more, drop me a line.
