My favorite things are good movies, road food, really good conversation with clever people. Divorced after a long marriage that produced 4 wonderful children with whom I remain very close. Broad shouldered and over 300 lbs at the moment which I'm working on.(never a small guy I've gained a substantial amount of weight since divorcing over a year ago). I'm looking for someone with a sense of fun and adventure as well as humor & curiosity. A woman who sees the glass as half full. I love driving up the New England coast for the scenery and seafood. The quaint and the casual as opposed to the grand and glitzy. I really like getting lost someplace I've never been and finding an out of the way place to have a meal or a drink and if that place is on or near any kind of water so much the better. Besides enjoying the "off the beaten path" places I also enjoy "tourist traps" as well; like the Jersey shore, haunted houses, wax museums, historic sites, factory tours etc. Movies new and old whether on the big screen or at home are also favorites of mine as well as "The Office", "Survivor" and "The Amazing Race" on TV. It seems many women list the beach as a favorite place and although I love the ocean I'm not a sun worshipper and I have no interest whatever in the Caribbean etc. My taste in music is pop from the 40s50s and 60s as well as classical and easy listening etc. but no hip hop rap etc. I am fun to be with and have a quick wit but also a really good listener.
I usually vote Republican but have also voted for Democrats and consider myself a reasonable, thoughtful, tolerant, middle of the road, independent thinker.

Meet at a cafe for a pre-arranged limited time. When the time is up we both have to leave whether we hit it off or not to be followed by an e-mail within 24 hrs. either way. The thought process behind this idea is that it takes the pressure off both of us and make that first ice-breaking meeting less awkward.
