The other day on Rob, Arnie, and Dawn they were talking about internet dating and the things people do that are annoying. Two of the itmes brought up were pictures (of course), and exaggerations (such as 'love to travel').
If you post a picture or two from 7 years ago when you were in your prime and another 'glamour shot' picture - don't be overly surprised when they person you meet has an 'emergency' hair cut appointment.
The woman caller was annoyed by guys who put travel as a hobby, but never have been out of citrus heights. Obviously, those guys lied.
So, what do you do? Do you put the worst pic you have and hope that everyone sees your inner beauty (masked and well hidden by your outer ugly)? Do you write a description like: Most people say I'm boring and if they had never met me their life would have been less boring?? Or do you write something like: I would LOVE to travel, work out at the gym, and cook dinner for you; BUT,I'm too lazy and unmotivated.
Well, you could put your worst pics and tell others about your downfalls... But, unfortunately it is in our nature to be fairly shallow when looking for a mate. I think that's why Jesus turned the water into wine because let's face it - how many children have been conceived due to poor choices fueled by alcohol induced judgement impairments???
So when you read a profile, keep in mind that some of the descriptions are 'optimistic' ideals of what the author 'wishes' they were like. When you look at the pics, keep in mind that there are literally thousands of pictures in the person's picture gallery and they chose those few - making them truly one in a thousand (one picture in a thousand).

That being said, my pics are recent and I go to 24 to stay in shape, I travel some (usually short weekend trips), and I like a wide range of fun activities. I am older than my age listed, you can't change your age after a time period, I'm 39. If that's too old, then thanks for looking and peace.
I like Vegas, Tahoe, Reno, San Diego, San Fran, and Folsom Lake ( and the confluence up by Aburn).
Family is important to me, I try to consistently make time for those I am close with. The same goes for friends I am close with.

I think Starbucks, Coldstone, or Jamba are great first date locations because you get a chance to talk a bit and if it doesn't go well for either person, you both can leave. There's nothing worse than being at a dinner and knowing you want to leave but you just got your food.... and you're thinking - is the food worth it? And then you think: that food looks really good. And then you wonder: what the eff am I doing?
Conversely, if you're meet goes well and the chemistry is good you can opt for hanging out longer, getting dinner, or something fun like mini golf, bowling, pool, a drink, etc. Or just hanging out for a while and chatting.
Or you can plan a fun activity for the first meet. That way, even if you don't want to go out again you at least had a good time.
Here's something funny (to me) about this site:
-When you complete the profile fill in questions, one question is "Do you have children?"
-The next question is "Do you want children?"
**So, what does it mean if you answer 'yes' to the first question and 'no' to the second question? Or, if you answer 'yes' to the first question, they should have one of the answer choices for the second question, "I guess it's a little late now."

What do you think about changing the name to PlentyofChildren? Seriously, doesn't everyone on here have children??? Not that it's a bad thing, I have one too but it is kinda funny that sooo many people on here do too.
In the bottom section of each profile, it has a mail settings / criteria section and in that section I see the following pretty often:
Must not have messaged users looking for intimate encounters or sex.
They should change that to looking for intimate encounters or sex ONLY. Think about it, pretty much everyone wants to meet someone they like and are attracted to. Then they are eventually going to have some sex. So, pretty much everyone is here looking for sex. Therefore, that statement is a little misleading.
About me:
-I am a dog lover. I have 2 small dogs. I used to think small dogs were gay and lame and my first instint was to punt them. But, then my gf a few years ago wanted one so we got one and now I'm hooked. They are the best road trip dogs because they're so small and because they love to sit on your lap. They're Chihuahaus, one long hair and one short hair and I wouldn't give them up for anything. I do think about getting another dog, a large dog so I can take it jogging or some of the things small dogs aren't so good at, but it may be a while.
- my screen name derivation is from the old racer X tv show. Also, when I would race motocross or quarter mile (motorcycle and car), I would use X8 as my number. I'm no Ricky Carmichael but I have fun motoxing.
-my sense of humor is a littly crazy sometimes, but I think I'm funny and sometimes other people do too...
-I try to stay fairly healthy and in shape, so if you like the gym, good.
