I'm sensitive, gentle, kind, creative, flexible, laid back, and interested in ending the uncommitted existence. Marriage is the finest of the options if you can reach that very special destination.

I'm looking for Reasonably Attractive, Mentally Sharp, Emotionally Mature, Emotionally Responsive, a Good Communicator and realistic financial expectations as in "partnership." Obviously, the first "date" is just a "meeting," but it is still somewhat traumatic for most ladies, and they prefer the "safe" place to meet. So we'll negotiate that item. After that, I would like to create a warm fire on a rainy night and cuddle up with you and make up for lost time. That, too, can be negotiated! I'm not your typical male. Please allow enough personal time with me to really know me. It will be pleasant, I assure you. And I've learned that trying to do more with email than setting a time and place to meet is basically a waste of this man's time. It is never productive in and of itself. So here's the deal: Meet me or delete me. I'm not spending five more minutes doing the keyboard dance with women who aren't willing to make up their minds for a simple first meeting. And on top of all of that, you'll discover a really a nice person when you arrive.

Now out of respect for your sincere questions you'd like to have answered by me, if you write me and say something like "Ed, I'm finding myself interested in you, but I have these questions I'd like you to answer for me before going further," I'd be very willing to give you my best answers.

First of all, we both know this is a bogus concept. It's a first meeting to determine whether an actual date should happen. Sometimes the first meeting can be enjoyed over several days if we are far apart, but it's still a get-acquainted time and shouldn't have the same expectations as a "date." It's sad, but way too many appealing women want to keep things close at home, so they don't let anyone in who is more than 30 minutes from their house. Please don't let distance stop you. We go on distant vacations and visit other friends and family who are miles and miles away, so why not relax about that issue? After all, if a connection happens, someone (probably me) is going to relocate anyway. Go for the "gold" of compatibility wherever it shows up. "Convenience" only limits our choices.
