Hi, thanks for checking out my profile. I'm Burke and I'm probably the only Burke you'll ever meet! I'm a unique guy, and I'm worth getting to know, so here's me on paper. (I'm more fun in 3D though)

I just moved into my own apartment in Windsor and I'm loving the freedom. I do kind of miss my mom's food, but I'm a better cook than a lot of guys my age. I'm just too lazy to spend an hour or two every night cooking. I love to cook Italian food because, lets face it, pasta is quick, easy and delicious.

My family comes from northern Italy, not too far from Venice. I was lucky enough to spend 3 weeks this summer there and the region of Friuli is without a doubt the most beautiful place I've ever been. Imagine relaxing at a beach on the Adriatic sea with a view of the Alps in the background. They even serve beer on the beach there! How awesome is that? Well, considering it got up to 40C, a nice cool beer was a godsend. I do speak Italian, as well as French, but I'm not 100% fluent in either. I do, however, know how to have a simple conversation, order lunch and call my friends some interesting names.

During the day I go to school at St Clair College. I'm studying to be a millwright and I should be done in April of 2010. After I'm finished I'm not sure whether I'll start my apprenticeship or go to university. I'm very excited to start my career and do something meaningful with my life. I'd love to have someone special around to enjoy college life with, but if the right girl doesn't come along that's fine too. There's no point jumping into something that's going to have a bad ending, so I'm not really looking to rush things.

Speaking of Rush... lets talk about music, something I'm very passionate about. If you didn't get the Rush joke, Rush is one of my all time favourite bands, along with Dream Theater. I listen to a lot of metal, but I like a lot of other genres too. I like classic, alternative and progressive rock, as well as the blues and even some classical guitar. The Foo Fighters and Our Lady Peace are bands I grew up listening to and I'll never get sick of them.

It's one of my goals to be able to play progressive music at the level of John Petrucci, Dream Theater's guitarist. I spend a lot of time every day practicing, but sometimes I don't think I'm getting anywhere. I'm not a bad guitarist, but I still have a long way to go. I love to learn new stuff though, so tell me you're favourite song and I'll try and play it for you! Just don't ask for any Van Halen...

I spend a huge amount of time with my friends just hanging out and playing music. If you play an instrument or have a singing voice (not even a good one!), you should defiantly say hi! I'm down to jam with anyone, even if you've never even picked up a recorder. If you're that person who's "always wanted to learn", it's totally worth it! Music is a great way to express yourself and learning how to play it is one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. It may seem intimidating and impossible, but everyone's gotta start someplace!

So if you're looking for new people to hang out with, say hi! I'm not really looking to date right off the bat. I've been on plenty of fish for about a year now and I've tried dating a few people I've met here, but haven't had much luck. I've decided that I want something meaningful and when its meant to be, I know the right girl will come along. I'm defiantly looking for new friends though, so if you are too, feel free to say hi!

I'm open to anything that both you and I are comfortable with. We can meet for coffee, see a movie or even have a sweet jam session. Anything that we'll both have fun doing!
