Before I begin, there's something I've noticed about the whole "prefer not to say" option. People...People people people, what gives? If you write "prefer not to say" when the question is "do you smoke?" you've already said enough, don'tcha think honesty might work a little better? So if we're out for dinner on our first date and I say "so, do you have any children?" I should expect to hear "I prefer not to say?" Classic!!


Me: Young professional (wait a second-I'm not that young anymore!), very active, involved in the community. Loves sports, I'm a great listener and I like to think I am a good judge of character. I like to work hard but also like to enjoy my time not working. I'm that guy who doesn't take himself too seriously. The one who realizes that life is a journey, not a destination. I'm comfortable in my own skin. I love who I am and I wouldn't change me for anything/anyone. My feet are firmly planted on the ground as I try to reach for the stars!! I love to travel, and travel fairly often for work. Have you ever been to China?

You: Also busy, preferably professional, likes to work hard but also values the time NOT working. You don't NEED a man in your life but realize that having someone to compliment your life would be a fantastic addition to your universe. You love children (I don't have any but I'd like one or two- eventually). You love your family, you have great friends. You are a doer not a talker. You like early mornings. You love to travel and would love to accompany me on a work trip here or there. Ultimately you don't take yourself TOO serious either and you realize that in life the only 2 cliche's that are actually true as a) sh*thappens b) you can't sweat the small stuff.

Us: A great day would be waking up early, kissing you goodbye as we both scamper off to work to face the day's challenges. A text message here, a quick phone conversation there. Can't wait to see you at the end of the day. We meet at home, order in some chinese food. Maybe we share a great bottle of Dolcetto and fall asleep together, only to repeat it all again tomorrow! And of course we would travel a lot so we could see how the rest of the world lives. If Spontanaety is a word high on your vocabulary list....CONTACT ME ALREADY!

Coffee, a walk in the park, a restaurant, a Leaf game (Blue Jays in the summer), a rooftop patio. Somewhere we can talk, get to know each other. If that goes well, the 2nd date is usually a lot more fun and relaxing!
