I've written this thing a few times and no matter how I write it I never seem to convey who I really am, I either come off as goofy, or as the kind of man who runs around with a stick up their ass. I'm neither, I'm me. Like everyone out there I am not quite like anyone else.

My name is Grant and I am not a shy person; people often mistake quiet for shy but if I am not saying anything its because I don't have anything to say; someone like me can't afford to be shy I've been a singer, a comedian, I worked at a carnival, and now I work at a radio station. I have lots of social skill, I'm emphatic, and I love meeting people. Despite all that I'm not really looking to be in the spotlight, I don't want to be the center of attention.

I have always treat others the way I want to be treated, and that is with courtesy and respect I approach new people as if they were old friends; with dignity and manners. I'm polite to everyone until they prove they don't deserve it but I am slow to actually trust people. I'm an open and honest person but it takes a lot to actually get into my confidence. I'm a joker as well, I have a sharp wit and a way with words; I consider sarcasm to be a fine art and can apply it liberally where needed like its my own personal verbal WD40.

I make a conscious effort to be kind and gentle, I'm an observer and a doer, I am equal parts active and inactive. At times I can act like a complete goof ball, other times I am the level headed and totally serious, and on occasion I can be as scatterbrained and flighty as humanly possible. I'm a caring person with a big heart, and though I do not always show it I almost always emphasize with people most especially the people I care about.

I've been in the dating scene for about 3 years now, I still meet and go out with women locally but nothing ever seems to come from any of it so I am checking out here thinking that maybe I can broaden my horizon a little bit. No I'm not really willing to try a long distance relationship I'd prefer to keep it to an area where neither of us would have to travel more than an hour to see each other.

If I keep going this profile will turn into a novel so I'll start to wrap it up :)

I'd like to meet a woman who knows what she wants, a woman who is responsible, capable, and independent. I've always been attracted to the kind of women who to me seem like they are with me because they want me around, not because they need me around. I don't mind a little bit of shyness, it can be charming but I get turned off by women who always act meek or indecisive. I also really love it when a woman can hold her own, she has her own opinions and can defend them but is open minded enough to listen and maybe consider other people's point of view without condemning them; I am a communicator and I don't play games or hide things from a woman I am seeing and I want a woman who can do the same for me. If you don't like something, tell me, I'll tell you about my feelings too.

No drugs, not even marijuana, please. I dealt with drug addictions in the past and it left scars that might not ever heal. I prefer women who don't smoke (health concerns and etc.) but it's not a deal breaker and I know that everyone enjoys a little alcohol now and then but ladies, if you make it a habit to drink all the time its not going to bode well.
