I'm here for the same reason as many others; to hopefully meet the right person. For the past thirteen years Atlanta has been my home (last 10 years in the Virginia Highlands). I have worked long hours to advance my career and now I'd like to round out my life with someone special.

Born in Minnesota and grew up within walking distance of the St. Croix river, with so much to do in the great outdoors (even during icy winters). I don't think I've ever lost that boyish curiosity and desire to search and explore. Eventually moved to the Chicago-land area. College was just great and I met many lifelong friends I still am in touch with today. Go Fighting Illini! I don't have the huge social network like some have in Atlanta. This may be a benefit because I have time to spend with those I date; maybe even find new friends together. Of course, if I were back in Chicago, or even NYC, things would be more hectic...

The type of woman I want to meet: intelligent, mature, stable, considerate, thoughtful, sensitive, athletic, trustworthy, career-minded, funny and honest. I am not expecting perfection, as we all have faults and I am certainly not without rough edges. Hopefully, a good person who lives from both the heart and mind is not the proverbial needle in a haystack. A balanced and centered woman is preferred. Life is just too short to not enjoy it in every way possible.

About me. I'll include the traits listed above but my old friends could probably think up exceptions! They'd go along after the required teasing, of course. I have done my share of partying but I've mellowed a bit with age. A boring stiff I am not and I have no problem seeing humor in things I have done. Humor is so important. I am not pushy, religious (spiritual, yes), or any of that. Very genuine and not a sap. I like to listen to people until I feel I know them a little; you know -- figure them out. Sometimes introverted, sometimes extroverted; it just depends. Perhaps you can find out the rest should we meet!
