I am 60 years old and widowed. I appreciate the "really important things" in life and I think I have a good life but it would be better if I had someone special to share it with. I am looking for someone who likes to travel, enjoys entertaining and spending time with friends as well as a quiet glass of fine wine in front of the fire. I want somebody to tell how my day was and to hear about his. Life is too short to be lonely. I'm interested in boating, gardening, dancing, cooking and entertaining at home. I also have grandchildren and family is important to me. I like to take day trips and find a quaint out of the way spot for lunch, I like shopping (particularly in the U.S. - it's like a sport). I like to travel and see new places. I enjoy trying new things and I'm very open to most -- tell me what you like.

A first date is very different than an "ideal date". First date is a time to find out if you click and so probably a quiet place where we could talk over a drink or a coffee. That's very different from an ideal date which might be cooking together and then enjoying a romantic dinner by the water or a day on the water with dinner afterwards
