The purpose of these profiles, as I see it, is to let others know as painlessly as possible, what "makes you tick". It seems silly to me to try to write a profile that is bogus and full of ...hyperbole, let's say. People soon discover that anyway, right? (Even if they don't suspect it right from the start.) By the same token, people often sell themselves short too or fail to distinguish themselves from the masses. Now we all are unique. We all have our interesting and appealing points. So that route is in error too. I hope I hit a midpoint here that tells a BIT about me.

I was separated for 2 years prior to my divorce, which was finalized in June of 2009. I like to laugh often but also am sometimes contemplative about life and what is important in it. I seek (if the situation is right) to have some female companionship in life's moments in which that kind of bond and that kind of sharing makes things richer and more fun.

I prefer beer over wine, dogs over cats, substance over style (though of course BOTH are nice), rock over rap, quality over quantity, McCartney over Lennon (though the COMBINATION and synergy were key THERE), and Elvis Costello over Elvis Presley.

I like dreams of flying and dreams when you feel you may have an inkling that you are dreaming and thus can be the master of every scenario (still working on making my life like that!). I like it when I begin awakening thinking it is time to work but then gradually it dawns on me that - it's the weekend- I can go back to sleep!

I like politeness, for some weird reason and would likely not rule out for consideration a homocidal maniac date/partner as long as she said "please" and "thank you" and cleaned up after her kills.

Great (?) would-be inventions of mine that've never caught on: The bean bag desk. The Mexican Style Umbrella Hat: The Sombrella. 90-degree pivoting automobile wheels for the parallel parking impaired (not me, mind you). This never got past the high speed road tests; the wrongful death suits are still underway.

Two song-lyric fragments I like that occurred to me recently (by the same band-yeah 80's stuff): "hand in hand is the only way to land" and "no one ever knows or loves another..or loves another". Different moods, diametrically opposed but both valid perspectives I'd say. Thanks for giving my profile a read.

Perfect first date experience: We go to the glue factory for a free tour but they forget to give us oxygen masks and the fumes are causing lightheadedness, and dizziness. We both mistakenly think it is the allure of each other that is causing this feeling. In our confusion we wander into the wrong area and are epoxied together. We at that point are hoisted out of the factory singing in spontaneous harmony, a variation on the great Huey Lewis tune we call "Happy to be stuck to you".
