I've been waiting for the universe to have that perfect someone just walk past me one day, smile brightly, initiate conversation and away we would go! The universe is taking it's sweet time and I'm attempting to force it's hand for a moment or two. I was one of those long-term marriage statistics who had to learn how to date again at the age of 45. I wasn't all that proficient at it the first time around and I can't say that age has perfected that in me! I'm an adventurist, love to travel and do so at any opportunity. I have an incredible social circle, never truly feel 'alone' as my life is filled with friends and family, but the sharing of intimate moments has become a missing link. I'm a believer of chemisty and won't pretend if the spark isn't there, but it's time I open up my world to the possibilities. I am particular in some ways... would love a man taller than me with hair! (I'm 5'7") Laughter and a youthful spirit are keys to opening up my soul. So, are you smiling?

Instead of saying what I 'would' do... let me tell you a little story of what I 'did' do on my first online date. The Carmel Concours was happening that weekend and the cars were arriving early that Friday afternoon. My 'date' and I drove to Carmel and spent a wonderful afternoon oohing and aahing these incredible fancy cars. We had lunch in a cute Italian cafe, were able to spend the hour there and back talking and discovering quite a bit about each other. There was a trust that had to happen for me to even get in the car with this person, but we had a remarkable day. Somehow we never did get on that second date and I haven't ventured off on any other online dates, but the first one was memorable.
