An interesting, creative, educated, playful soul; warm, gregarious and left-leaning. A good cook. A writer, in some modes, a thinker and analyst in others, but always a touch of romantic. An engineer and lawyer by education, and a derivative of that in work life, after Hurricane Katrina.

Friends and acquaintances describe me as grounded, gregarious, genuine.

Before and after that storm, I had a chance to play the fiddle in the mountains of West Virginia, and lived there from summer, through the middle of the winter, and into spring, and loved it.

For me, Katrina started a "where would a nice place to live" be -- though my house survived in New Orleans, and find myself there in between other locales. Work has been where my laptop sits, for the most part, and so I have lived and visited: Austin, Lafayette, Atlanta, WV, All Over South Florida, New York, and more.

Most importantly, I want the who-with to be the measure of success in my life, not the where, so I can fairly and easily commit to being where you are, if I am lucky and find you.

I love to hike. I missed many years of being able to, living at the end of the Mississippi River. Had many wonderful times in the Berkshires as a kid and later, and through parts of the White Mountains. And the nearly year in West Virginia, was in the small town of Elkins. The hikes there in WV were unparalleled, and the subject of endless photographs in the varied seasons. I wish I could have stayed there.

I listen to NPR news; read the New York Times, online, and catch the fun radio programs on NPR, PRI and APR. I dance, play the fiddle, lean left and wish I could get that guy Kessel to leave a message on my voice mail.

The number of versions only limited by imagination, serendipity and happenstance. A meal, a sandwich on a trail, zydeco dancing at the rock n bowl, wandering aimlessly and talking.

I know that the attraction won't be instant and perfect, but there will be something about the way you think, or smile, or watch the world around you that catches and holds my attention.
