About Me
Hi out there. How's that internet dating treating you? Its always a bit strange just spouting off about yourself whether its on line or in person...I mean I kind of feel like thats what a first date always becomes anyway. Well whatever... So when I get up to go to work everyday I "science". At least thats what my friend always says. He'll call me up and ask "Yo, you sciencing right now"? I like the term for some reason. I like the fact that its really just not a word. In short I work in a pharmaceutical lab in La Jolla in which our focus is on drug discovery in oncology. After that I coach high school basketball up in Encinitas for most of the year. Even though its a winter sport we offer the kids a lot of off season opportunities to get better so I'm up there quite a bit. If I've got some free time I've been using it to teach myself to play the keyboard and write music. Struggling with that though...seems to be a lot harder than I thought. I've been playing guitar for some time now, so that keeps me busy. I have turnatables, but I really haven't been using them recently. Need to get back to that. I grew up on the east coast in the suburbs outside of NYC. Went to school out there and bounced out here when I graduated. I'm pretty influenced by the music era I grew up in so, that includes (and in the most random order I could come up with): Wu Tang, Biggie, GnR, Pearl Jam, Mobb Deep, Alice in Chains, Pink Floyd, Jedi Mind Tricks, Coldplay, Linkin Park, System of a Down, Redman, U2, Army of the Pharoahs, Rolling Stones, Metallica, Green Day, Big Pun, Stone Temple Pilots, The Who, Jimmy Eat World, Incubus, Death Cab for Cutie, Aaron Lewis, Mos Def, Foo Fighters, Gang Starr, Kool G Rap, Led Zeppelin, Mad Season, Nirvana, Radiohead, Rise Against, Silversun pickups, The Roots, Weezer, Offspring, Outerspace, 7L & Esoteric... I've recently found a new artist that I thought was somewhere in between hiphop and electronica, but then I was eventually told that its called ambient. Jon Hopkins...look him up. Very loungy, but I like it.
Been working on a half sleeve on my left arm for a few months now...still got a few more months ahead of me for that. If you're not into tattoos, then...well...
First Date
I read so many different answers for this...it's crazy. Most people aren't answering the question. "just a place to sit and talk" is not a date. Thats just a way to see if you get along enough to want to go on a date. A date should be a fun time with someone with a slightly romantic overtone. Something just fun. People are always saying they want to go where you can talk. Thats cool and all, but how about going somewhere fun regardless of whether you talk the whole time. Concerts are cool. It doesn't matter if its all loud during the show, 'cause you can always chat it up between sets and after the show. Mini golf, batting cages, pretending to shop for things you definitely can't afford, people watching,...it doesn't really matter. The point is it should be about doing something you enjoy and seeing if its fun with the other person. Chatting along the way will happen anyway if you really want it to.
