I've been divorced for many years and am looking for a companion, dating relationship, and hopefully long-term commitment at some point. I am very active and am not the 'couch potato' type, so I like to be on the 'go'. I was a marathon runner for many years and also parachuted in my younger years. I still work out to stay in shape. I've recently even driven a race car (was a gift), so I am still up for adventures and an active lifestyle. I am currently working on my second published book of poetry, which became a passion a few years back. I found great self expression through my poetry. My poetry ranges from issues of lost love to the humorous side of life, and everything in-between. I've been retired for about ten years, and do live on a fixed income, so exoctic travel is out, but I manage and find ways to afford the things I want, or want to do. I have a hard time with people who are overly materialistic. I believe one can be romantic without endless gifts of expensive baubles. I'm drawn to women who take care of themselves, regardless of age, and someone who will put up with my corny sense of humor is a must. I love to talk and am looking for someone to have long conversations with. My cat "George" just doesn't hold up his end of the conversation very well, so a real live person would be nice! Ha!

I'd like to exchange emails, pictures, etc. and get to know someone a little through email first, and then phone calls to arrange a get-together for coffee or lunch for something casual and a little less stressful for both of us. I think both people know from the first encounter if there is any real chemistry and like-mindedness. If so, then I'm open to dating; dinner, movies, driving excursions, etc. I'm not looking to date a lot of women, but rather to find that 'one special one'.
