I just moved to Sacramento at the influence of my friend/neighbor. I also needed to get out of a bad living arrangement with friends back in Martinez. I still work in the Bay Area but am occassionaly here in the Sacramneto area.
I'm rather shy at first but warm up quickly, however, I'm not exactly one to go exploring on my own so I've managed to spend my first 6 months here playing computer games, hanging out with neighbor and her co-workers. I'm not much of a drinker and I don't involve myself with drugs or those who do and as such I don't go to many parties and pretty much stay away from bars. I'll go with friends but usually stay so I can drive them home. My friends know that they can call me anytime for a ride if they need one - I would rather get woken up at 3am a drunk friend than getting a call from the hospital or the police.

Being single for almost 9 years has had it benefits - able to drop everything and travel for work - but it has been also been a very long, lonely and depressing time. I've seen my brother get married, which the family thought would never happen, my friends get married - some we thought never would as well.. ..and then there's me, still single. I haven't been "actively" looking for someone but I haven't exactly been ignoring it either. I do believe that if you're looking for someone to be with you will never find the right person.

The woman I'm looking for enjoys dressing up for a night on the town, going to a stage production as well as getting down and dirty with the boys playing in the mud and getting greasy working on cars. She understands what communication is and has a sense of common courtesy as well as a fair amount of tolerance for me and my numerous character flaws ;) Being employed and having a mode of transportation is always a plus. Sharing the same interests, or at least being supportive is also key.
