My interests are many and varied, but I will say that although I have a passing interest in many things-including art, I have yet to discover any actual artistic talent-and I have a wealth of knowledge about only a few areas. When I am a grown-up, I hope to have all the answers, 'cause goodness knows I have precious few of those these days :) I enjoy lots of things, from photography to cooking, from reading to shooting pool, and from theater to building with my son's legos-my favorite activity, though, is probably learning new things. I consider myself dependable, but I am also spontaneous, I am opinionated, and can also be shy. I am more of a realisitc optimist, and pessimistic, negative people depress me. I tend to be direct, and I am not overly patient, so if that is a turn-off for you, then please keep fishing.

I am at a point in my life where it would be oh-so-nice to meet Mr. Right, but I also know that the level of comfort I am seeking takes time to build up, so I'd like to spend some time with a quality guy and see what develops. To me, a "quality guy" is friendly and dependable, patient, and comfortable with multi-syllabic words. I have been doing the on-line thing for a while now, and I have learned that it is generally best if I take my time and get to know someone through a few emails and phone calls before that all-important first meet. I am a single mom with 2 kids, so I gotta make sure he is sitter-worthy, right?

Actually, if the conversation and the company are good, just about any activity is a great first date, to me.

Bonus points if you can make me laugh right out loud (not just a polite giggle).
