I am looking for friends first, dating, meeting new people. Not looking to have sex with different men, am looking to really get to know someone and find out first if the chemistry goes beyond lust!

About me: I love yard sale'ing, going to auctions,flea markets,thrift shops hoping to find a treasure someone else deemed junk. Sometimes to re-sell on E Bay, often times to keep. I prefer going to out of the way little country diners over fancy places (however I do like to hit up Longhorn every now and then, love a big fat juicy ribeye) Would rather go to a local art show than the opera, and would rather go to a play than the symphony. Don't go bar hopping but am not opposed to stopping in at a local pub and tossing back a few brewskies as long as someone sober is driving! I prefer local places of all sorts, that's where the fabric of our country is. I am not into pomp and circumstance.
I do like to cook and love to cater parties at home (casual)bake yummy sweet treats for midnight snacks in bed and love a good barbecue.Sitting around a campfire with friends on a Friday night after a good meal having a glass of wine or a bottle of beer is my kind of evening. I have been cooking since the age of 10 and also worked for a couple of years in a restaurant as a cook. I also love to write, create works of art, spend time on or around the water, watch my garden grow,(didn't plant one this year,it was too hot!) I love to read and read about a book a day when I am not being creative.Books give me great ideas about how I want to see my future (even though a lot of them are serial killer books, I could do without that part) My dream would be to acquire an old cabin in a beautiful part of the country,perhaps the Carolina mountains, with an old diner/country store attached and open a small country business with a small clientele. I like to take weekend jaunts or day trips to out of the way, off the beaten path places, and in general enjoy life!
So that's pretty much what I like to do. Would love to travel, it just hasn't been possible much. I am pretty laid back and don't like to argue and don't share or play well with others, so don't even ask!! (you know what I am talking about! )

Here's What I prefer in a Man:

One who is : FAITHFUL AND 100% ONE WOMAN MAN!!! Intelligent, humorous,passionate, caring, honest, loyal,hardworking, creative, romantic to an extent, knows how to say goodbye when leaving the house and a kiss hello upon return,Says goodnight before retiring, does not shut me out and hide behind closed doors no matter who he's mad at, and wants to be treated like a king. I would like someone I could laugh with , A LOT! , and have many things in common that we both find pleasure in . He wouldn't have to be perfect,I am far from perfect in the looks department,however I will refrain from pointing out my deficits , most which can be improved with a little more money ( not plastic surgery,just minor fixer uppers) I accept people for who they are. A great personality goes a long way in the ability to overlook superficial flaws in a persons looks. Much like one of my favorite quotes: You come to love, not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly!
There are many more things I like, interests and what not, but then, why not save something to talk about while getting to know one another.
Please, no players, I am very astute and have an incredible sixth sense.
If you just want to be friends , fine. I would love to find a few people to just hang out with for now, get to know, maybe have a few drinks, maybe a BBQ or something. I do love to cook and will bring a great dish.

Who knows. I like to be surprised,to a certain extent. No movies,symphony's,opera's or 5 star restaurants on a first date. Maybe lunch or dinner at a local diner or Wing Place(love wings! ) Maybe a baseball game. Maybe a quaint BBQ at your place with a couple of friends or family members in attendance to ease the uncomfortableness of a first date. I'll make something good to bring! Love art shows and animals of all kinds so something along that line would be fun too. I have always been intrigued by the thought of a mystery dinner theater and think it would be very cool to experience, perhaps along the lines of a 2nd or 3rd date.
