Like so many others, I too, am hoping to find a best friend and lifelong partner. He'd be a man of quiet confidence with diverse interests and attributes of sincerity and integrity. Someone who is mentally, emotionally and financially stable, and is physically active and fit.

As for myself, here are some tidbits of info you might want to know ... Dogs are a huge part of my life, so they'll always be around. In addition to spending lots of quality time with my own, I also volunteer for an animal shelter. I'm a very active cyclist(4 seasons) and a frequent hiker. In sports I much prefer to be a participant rather than a spectator. Over the years, I've tried all kinds of athletics but have mainly stuck with endurance sports in which I have a natural strength (including running and rowing, and occasional x-country skiing).

I'm relaxed in social settings, enjoying lively conversation & laughter. I'm both a city girl and a country girl. Arts and culture are important to me, as is science, nature and the environment. Though I sometimes get a rush from the hustle and bustle of metropolitan city life (the incredible architecture, museums, skyscrapers, haute couture, jazz clubs, bright lights, live theatre, crowded streets, shop windows, multicultural eateries) I often crave the serenity and tranquility of the countryside. I adore the beauty, the sights and the sounds of nature --- bees a-buzzing, crickets and songbirds,the flicker of fireflies on a hot summer night or the giggling of water bubbling through a forest stream. And oh, the sweet smells of fresh country air!
I stay informed about local and global issues and when time permits I like to read some of the piles of books that I've collected over the years (but there are only so many hours in a day!) ... and I love to travel too! I'm a fun, optimistic, girl ... with a romantic side.

I'd like a first meeting to be simple and casual. Maybe a coffee shop or dessert place ... someplace where, if things work out well, we could happily stay and talk for hours or go for a stroll ... if there's just no spark between us, that's okay ... we'll go our separate ways as friends ... no hurt feelings.
