About Me
I'm still waiting for someone worth waiting for, hope he's waiting for me somewhere. I'm still hoping that it's worth hoping he's out there. I'm still looking for someone worth looking for: one fish out in the great big sea. I'm still hoping that it's worth hearing "you've find me"... (lyrics borrowed from The Facebook Musical)

Hi! I'm Ryan, and I guess this is the welcome to my profile. The website is recommending that in order to be successful I should tell you about:
1. my hobbies
2. my goals and aspirations
3. me and what makes me unique
4. my taste in music
Well, tackling number 4 first, you've probably already guessed that I enjoy musicals. I debated inspiring this profiles with music by the Dixie Chicks, but... musicals tend to be better at expressing open metaphorical emotion so... that made the choice easy. What I listen to really depends on my mood... it might be instrumental themes from various movies, it might be music from the latest Cirque du Soleil show, something written by brilliant Canadian artist Bryce Kulak, Amanda Marshall, Nightwise, Madonna, MJ, or something you heard at Farra N Hyte's drag show from seven years ago. It varies.
My hobbies... ooh man, you mean you want me to list them all here? Hmmm... well let's start off with general geekery: I love my Apple computer, no matter how many times it has broken down on me... Babylon 5 (the TV series, movies, Crusade, love 'em all), Harry Potter (currently re-reading the series), and digital photo manipulation (but no, I haven't modified any of my photos on here, except to crop them). I enjoy designy artsy stuff, like graphic design and producing my own videos, but I also LOVE to travel and will pretty much go anywhere anytime if a feasible option presents itself. My best friend once suggested it would be fun to just show up at the airport with a small backpack and just go wherever we could for as long as we could afford to... just like that! Umm... I like long drives, long walks, and people who can get through this whole profile *wink*. Rock climbing indoors, learning new languages, meeting new people, spending time with friends, and baking cookies! :)
My goals and aspirations. They're pretty important, don't you think? How boring would life be if we all sat here glazing over watching the computer? Okay, my goals... ummm... well, as a student I'm hoping to graduate from my program. I'm studying to be an interpreter, something that I've always thought would be amazing--but never thought would be possible. What languages? ASL/English. I think it would be pretty cool to be a trilingual interpreter, but that would involve me strengthening my skills in Hebrew and/or French... though becoming a quatrilingual interpreter doesn't really seem feasible to me (I'd like to actually work and not just study at some point). No dreams about finding my dream man online, but hey... I'm open to possibility!
What makes me unique? Hmmm... outside of this abnormally long profile, you mean? Well, I'm pretty sure that if you've read everything above and you think that I'm like every other guy you've ever met in your life then nothing I say here will convince you to message me anyways. But if you're game, give me a shout.
One random unique thing that just popped into my brain: The most freedom I have ever felt was riding a bicycle through the city of Utrecht while visiting a friend there who was on exchange.
Another random unique thing about me: I get this thrill of utter calm that courses through me when I ride trains through the English countryside. I can't explain this, but I could ride trains for HOURS in the UK... it's just so beautiful, all the rolling green...
First Date
For a first date? Just sitting and talking... or walking and talking... or staring at the ceiling and talking.
Pretty much anything where we can just talk and get to know one another is good...
The goal would be a night that lasts for hours and feels like minutes, and caps off with a kiss...
ryanism has 1 roses that can be sent.
