My friends would describe me as a gentleman, never quick to anger but always quick to laughter, a warm heart, honest, respectful, intelligent. I have an adventurous past, but a bit more careful/conservative these days. My passion outside of work is international-style dancesport (I am a competitor, with several dance partners, so a very full dance card, but not exclusive, and beginners are welcome). I have been dancing for 17 years: its good exercise and keeps me fit and is great emotional therapy. I am a triumphant survivor: I've survived and grown from some major setbacks. I can still laugh, hope, and establish new connections. I am very sensitive, intuitive, open-minded, accepting, and am a lover of new ideas. Own a modest home in Thornton, and work from home (in the space sciences). It is a very demanding career, but I love what I do. A minor physical disability means I can no longer jog, hike (except short distances), or ski (or anything else that may result in a crash). For travel, a bed-and-breakfast in the mountains are more my style, and road trips to the canyonlands or fly-fishing mountain streams. I do not ride a Harley, work out daily, or watch sports. I enjoy art galleries, plays, dining out, movies, fixing up the house and working in the yard, and some TV (I enjoy the History channel most of all). My tastes in music tend to be what I can dance to: Waltz's, Foxtrots (eg, The "Crooners" such as the Rat Pack), old big band, and good 'ol rock and roll (esp. Motown and singer/songwriters from the 70's). I am a dyed-in-the-wool democrat.
