About Me
My current passion is dancing (nearing 2 yrs; I dance weekly; for what, see below); so I would prefer someone who either is already a dancer or would really like to learn. I'm also very active & energetic, so would prefer a partner who is equally active and energetic. Since I'm into spirituality and personal growth, I would love to have someone with similar interests to share these explorations. Since relationships, over itme, can be challenging, being accepting, tolerant, flexible, open, and good at personal & intimate communications are especially desirable qualities. In addition to dancing, I really love singing (though I'm not particularly good at it; just like doing it; used to have my own singing group) and music in general. Also, I like outdoors/nature ventures, travel, special events, social & active activities. A little about myself: I do a spiritual/medicinal Qigong daily, workout everyday (alternate aerobic & strength plus yoga 2x/wk), do volunteer work several times a week, trade the stock market everyday, cook most of my food from scratch, dance a few times a week, work on self-improvement (currently taking Spanish), take care of my home/gardens, etc. I am a very healthy, happy, optimistic person who wants to learn to connect at a deeper level in all my relationship and to impact others in my purivew of influence in a positive, loving way. I have many good habits, try to walk my talk, am always open to input from others, and strive to constantly learn & grow. I'm not looking for someone perfect but would love a woman who is loving and freely shares her emotions in all situations, in a loving, constructive way. Since I'm very affectionate and physically demonstrative (hugging/cuddling, etc), I would really like a woman who was physcially and emotionally expressive. In the real world though I've found that despite all our desires for these or those qualities or traits, nothing trumps that immediate emotional & physical connection that makes many so called "requirements" seem irrelevant. Being a Cancer (I think by now you may have guessed that), among others things, I'm an unrepentant romantic & idealist. But, while reaching for the stars, I still try to keep at least one foot on the ground. Which reminds me of one of the essential ingredients for a fun and happy relationship -- a great sense of humor about self and life! Forgot to mention that one of my major hobbies is that I collect paper money; like coin collecting, except its the paper version, and that I have a fairly extensive collection, mostly one & two dollar bills.
First Date
Although I would be open to suggestions from my date, I would like to prepare dinner together, if she felt comfortable, from my kitchen, where I have beautiful views from the hillside of the bay and of the gorgeous, romantic city lights at night. We could sip wine and eat hors d'oeuvres while listening to Sirius love songs or the lively oldies but goodies, preparing dinner, and exploring each others stories/history, etc. If so inclined we could spend part of the evening dancing, followed by a romantic walk on the beach or sitting next to the fire in the fireplace, continuing our mutual exploration. The above could happen in any order and with the agenda open to impromtu changes that struck our fancy. Follow-on dates: Night time: Dancing, dining, movies, singing, etc. Daytime: Something active (hiking, biking, tennis, racquetball, basketball, etc). I also like going to local festivals, near the wharf, at the fairgrounds, etc to listen to the music bands, see the performances, eat the special foods, look at the arts & crafts, etc (there are many around all the time - Seafood Festival, Blues/Jazz Festival, Greek/Italian Festivals, etc). If the realtionship progressed well, day/weekend trips to San Francisco, Hearst Castle, Big Sur, or other exotic places would be fun. Dances that I do/like: my favorites are Waltz & Bolero; my best are Night Club Two Step and East Coast Swing; others are Cha Cha, Hustle, Salsa, West Coast Swing, Rumba & Foxtrot; also can do Tango, Quickstep, Samba and Viennese Waltz, but more of works in progress becase they're tougher to do, at least for me. Used to do Contra a lot but, for me, it doesn't compare to the fun & variety of ballroom. So don't be bashful, go with that good feeling in your gut and drop me a line. I can be lots of fun and I'm easy to talk to. Look forward to hearing from you & hearing about your life. Its really a win-win proposition even if we're not destined for ... -
