Since I moved here a couple of months ago, I have found lots of great things to do down here. At this point in my life, it would be nice to have a companion to do some of these things with.

Some of my favorite movies are Blazing Saddles, Boondock Saints, and the original Gone in 60 Seconds...longest continuous car chase scene in the history of motion pictures...admittedly the remake had better acting.

People intrigue me (it's the cultural anthropologist inside). Shy at first, but sometimes I talk too much. Lived all over the USA. Would like to meet other people who have goals (or are planning to have goals). By the way, that last comment was a joke...having a goal to have goals.

When younger, I was usually climbing a tree or taking apart and reassembling my bicycle or my dad's VW vans. I enjoy working with my hands doing stuff from working on old cars and building things to baking and sewing. I take pride in doing things well. Rarely get bored...enjoy learning from every situation.

I love a good book (anything from Voltaire to James Patterson). If I don't want to think, James Patterson. He is an easy read. Kurt Vonnegut is crazy and funny. JD Salinger wrote my favorite book, The Catcher in the Rye. Shakespeare and Chaucer are, well, funny "dirty" story tellers. Stephen King's The Dark Tower series is descriptive and inventive. Harlan Ellison is a favorite, too.

As for music:
It depends on my mood. For example, The Flight of the Bumble Bee to the Elephant Walk to Pepper by the Butthole Surfers to Pink Floyd to Simon and Garfunkel to Nine Inch Nails. Used to play my trombone in a jazz band. Music not only intensifies a mood, but can change it as well.

My friends are people of all ages and backgrounds. I am attracted to intelligent, humorous, honest, and earthy people. Respectful, philosophical, thoughtful, responsive, and focused are also good qualities. Goofy fun is good too!

Enjoy being surprised and trying new things. New to the area, so I would like some suggestions.

One of my favorite dates I went on was taking a drive only using left turns. We got on the interstate and I thought we would never get off, but to no avail, there was a left-hand exit. It was a 3.5 hour trip and we actually made it without taking a single right turn...even into the driveway.
