I'm originally from Louisiana, have lived in East Texas about three years, and love this area.
I consider myself and upbeat person. I do not have a jealous, possessive, insecure nature, and will not be a good match for anyone who has these traits.
I would like to meet a neat, responsible gentleman near my age who gives and receives affection and appreciation freely.
I am accepting of the beliefs of others, and expect my convictions to be respected.
I won't waste lots of time telling you what a wonderful person I am... I think the relationships with family members, friends, neighbors and fellow man in general speaks volumes about one's character. No need for bumper stickers and distribution of pamphlets.
I will discuss...but will not argue...about politics, religion, the menu, my wardrobe, your wardrobe, global warming or the in-laws. (I may rethink this if I'm guaranteed to win).
I like to get to appointments early.
I have a good sense of humor.
I sometimes forget where I park the car...(may be a blond thing...can't be age...)
Money becomes very important to me when I don't have it.
I've been known to be a bit steadfast,(stubborn), about things very important to me.
I love to cook southern and cajun , for friends or just us. I enjoy trying new dishes and foods...but need a consenting victim to critique my masterpieces.
I'm not a modern day female counterpart of Dan'l Boone...do not slaughter or perform any surgical procedure on my own food...do not scale or skin fish or any other living creature. I get my protein...ready for the skillet or grill, devoid of resonance or twitching...from Kroger's.
I spend lots of time with my two youngest granddaughters, (they like my cooking)... they'll be grown and gone tomorrow...grandsons grew up and left just yesterday. While I'm not an avid sports fan...that can change at the drop of a hat, if my grandchildren, (or yours) are competing or playing a game. And, I can sit through a good football game on TV if I have popcorn and a hand to hold...however..if it's soccer, I may opt to stack greasy bb's in the corner while you're cheering for your team.
I love my family, my pups, spring, autumn, traveling in the spring and autumn, warm gingerbread with a glass of cold milk, backrubs, and air conditioners...detest hot weather, mosquitos and fire ants, rude ,loud people that have the need to be the center of attention.. I will not pretend to embrace the same things you like just to get your attention.
I enjoy shopping for groceries..(strange?) Maybe you can go shopping with me...and perhaps you'll remember where the car is parked.
I'm not euphoric. I'm a realist.

A first needs to allow for getting acquainted...a nice meal in a quiet restaurant, with a stroll afterward, (weather permitting), or music and dancing....anything that lends an opportunity for conversation.
