About Me
Thank-you in advance for taking the time to read my profile. As this is the start of the Holiday Season, I would like to say: "Happy Holidays"!! Initially, I want to say I am genuine in seeking a long term relationship. I feel it is important now to write more than what my hobbies and taste in music are. Most of what I've read on profiles is rather the same old thing. Everyone is out walking on the beach. :-) And, I don't express this with negativity! Just the fact that we all seem to have similar yet varied hobbies and tastes in music. But honestly, these don't and won't define developing a relationship. To me, it's more about feeling that initial "spark" and excitement. That; Wow... This could be the person for me! The rest: hobbies, sports, leisure activites all become a part of what is shared or honored, enjoyed or tolerated, because you love someone and afford them the space and time to pursue varied activities. At this time in our lives I think we've all learned the need for patience, respect, trust, acceptance, and honoring diversity in order to sustain a relationship. If your reading this, your here; as I am, looking forward to a future to share with another. So about me.... I'm looking to meet just ONE wonderful guy to welcome into and share my life with. It's that simple....... However, just so you get a feel for "me" (no, not that type of feel...lol....) I love the water, travel, reading, pets, being with people, dancing, etc. My former husband passed away 8 years ago. Although we had been divorced a year, it still was the loss of a best friend. We parted on the best of terms so I've no "nasty divorce" hangover. I live with two dogs. Having a dog is an essential part of my life. Just so you know. :-) I work in the medical field. Being compassionate, empathetic, ethical and a care-giver is a part of who I am. Any of my friends would tell you I'm the first phone call they make when in need. I believe any good one does comes back to us. I have to two philosophies I try to live by: The Golden Rule (and) never judge another until you've walked in their shoes. Or clogs, sneakers, sandels...lol.... I wish you all the best, ~D~
First Date
Hmmm....Whatever feels most comfortable. When meeting someone for the first time I think it's nice to sit and share coffee, a nice glass of wine; just relax and enjoy the opportunity of meeting you. I am a good conversationalist and enjoy a friendly debate/conversation on most any topic. I would make you laugh and feel comfortable immediately.
