About Me
I really enjoy fun banter. I operate out of both sides of my brain. I prefer to mapquest the route to the small town we're going to visit, but not to plan every step we'll take when we get there. I'm not possessive and don't strangle a woman with suspicion, or try to make myself the center of her life to the exclusion of others. I can deal with a woman who is successful - I admire her. Creativity impresses me. For better or for worse, I'm not a run-of-the-mill guy. There are many people who've lived more adventurous lives than me, but I have taken my own path and traveled to some interesting interior and exterior places along the way. If your idea of a man is someone who lusts for monster trucks, or wrestles alligators, that's not me. I'm a guy who wants to see you laugh until your sides hurt. I do have bum knees which prevent me from playing sports and hiking, but, to compensate, I'm told I'm a good kisser.

My hope is to meet someone who makes my world a better place when I'm with her...who makes me as curious about her as whatever it is we're curious about together. An original thinker whose opinions weren't given to her by others and who has no patience with dogma. She's sexy without even trying and has a twinkle of mischief in her eyes. A painting, sculpture or book can move her deeply. She's aware that love and laughter can't cure everything, but if something needs fixing those are the first things she'll try. She's not a formal person. She's kind, stops to pet animals (and isn't allergic to cats), says hello to old people in elevators, has a good sense of humor and likes guys who look a bit like Robert DeNiro. Yeah, that's what some people tell me, although I see myself as more of a combination of Sean Connery and Brad Pitt.

What do I like?: The beach, Sunday mornings at restaurants eating waffles, people watching, wandering the Farmer's Market looking for fresh fruit, going to art galleries or eclectic exhibits, investigating small towns on wknds., discussing books, sharing music, learning the strangest things on google and wikepedia, volunteer work (I haven't done any in years and it would be great to share the experience with someone), hanging with friends, eating Indian food, occasional yoga classes, books, sharing new insights with someone who's curious and probing, movies.... with everything informed by laughter whenever possible. I yearn for a mix of compassion, passion, intelligence, insight, kindness and understanding, to underlie everything. Knowing that in relationships there must be negotiations and that in the best negotiations both sides win. Then comes the magic moment when your first thought is about what's best for the relationship, not what's best for you.

First Date
I'd tell you what I'd like to do on a first date, but first dates are always nerve-wracking so I'd rather skip right to the second date. There, now that we're on the second date, we've grown comfortable with each other and there is no longer any need to stick to formality. We're free to go fishing for giant tuna, tie ourselves to kites and float to New Mexico, volunteer as Belly Ticklers at the Home For Unhappy Dogmatists, or simply join the Dali Lama at his weekly poker game.
------------------
Leaving the above to the world of imagination, how about a lite lunch for a first meet? Or a walk along the beach? Or get haircuts at the same time? If we like each other we can talk about a fun date...
