This is the first time I've tried something like this before but the bar scene gets old and I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm a traditional mid-western guy originally from Cincinnati, OH. I moved to Chicago after my time in the service was complete, about three years ago. I attended Miami University (of Ohio) where I studied History. Somehow, I ended up in the business world though I still have some aspirations to one day get my PhD, and teach history at the University level. I would describe myself as a very active person. The worst thing for me is being cooped up in my place all day.I love life, and seek to seize the moment however and whenever I can (although I can always go for cooking and renting a movie on Friday night after a long work week). I'm always looking for a way to use my time more effectively. In the past I've coached high school lacrosse and volunteered one night a week tutoring in the burbs. Running, hiking, climbing, mounting biking are all areas of interest I enjoy. When the weather is nice enough, I spend a lot of time on lakeshore drive running or out in a park in the burbs for a trail ride. Whenever I have the opportunity, I enjoy nature and find it is a great way to get exercise. When I decide to sit back and relax, I love playing guitar, anything from dave matthews to classic rock and I often enjoy making funny songs up about my friends and their situations. My ideal match would share my passion for exercise and living healthy. She would enjoy laughing and learning because I am constantly pointing out pointless trivial topics. I am looking for someone who considers themselves cultured, loves good art, music, theater, museums, etc. I enjoy seeing good exhibits when they are in town. I am looking for a girl whocan be a friend as well as build a romantic partner. I consider friendship an important part of any relationship. I am hoping to find someone to share experiences with and to build memories. I feel at this stage in my life that I know what I want and hope I find someone who feels the same.
