I had been quite content living the single life, until recently, when I retired (last year)from my long career with the Federal Government, and now that even my grandkids are almost grown, I feel I finally have the time to persue a serious relationship. I currently enjoy a part-time job with a small not-for-profit agency and have very flexible hours. I love my time with my friends and family but something seems to be missing - getting tired of going to functions on my own and I miss having that special someone to share all manner of things with. I like happy, interesting, down-to-earth, optomisitic people who are interested in learning new things and expanding their thinking - having good conversations and discussions. I am always curious about anything from science to history and enjoy learning about new places and things - that does not include sky-diving!!! I am not a "jock". I do care about basic fitness and health but now its more about enjoying life, discovering new things and "working on my bucket list." What I look for in a partner is someone who is honest, emotionally and financially secure, knows what they want, has a good sense of humour, a kind heart and is organized and responsible. Good manners and good hygiene are a must.
I will not be with anyone that smokes, drinks in excess or does drugs.
I feel that now is the time to enjoy life, have some fun and reap the benefits of lots of hard work. Some travel - especially to somewhere warm in the winter is on my "to-do" list and I have done some already. - Hope to do more.
I spend a lot of my free time working on a variety of art projects - making carousel horses for one. My interests are noted above but there is a lot more to know if you want to find out.

For both our comfort, after some telephone chat - I would suggest a meeting for coffee at a mutually agreed upon coffee spot. If that meeting were to lead to a date I think dinner and a movie would be a good place to start. Sounds a bit boring but excitement could be right around the corner - just depends -??
