I'm an easy-going type, one who plays well with others. I've got a quick wit that I love to wield with abandon once I get comfortable around someone, which, fortunately, usually doesn't take all that long. My sense of humor tends to lean a little to the dry side, however.

I have a reputation - that of the proverbial "nice guy"....and I'm still trying to figure out if that's a blessing or a curse! LOL Either way, it's me - and it's not something I plan on changing anytime soon.

I've got an eleven year old son living with me that is simply THE light of my life! I honestly don't know what I'd do without him. He's got to be tired of it by now, but I have a habit of telling him at least once a day that he's simply TOO CUTE FOR WORDS! And he is! No bias on my part - I've heard others say the same thing. But quick, get me off this soap box or I'll NEVER shut up!

I've been divorced for 6 years now, and feel comfortable with myself and my situation. I don't feel any overwhelming "need" to be in a long-term relationship, but I know myself well enough that if the right person came along, I'd jump at the chance to do just that. I'm basically a one-woman kind of guy - that's the way I was raised, and something else that is not likely to change about me.

And don't even THINK about having me unlock your car door from my side of the car. Just doesn't work that way for me. Chivalry is not dead, although I think it's been in a general state of slumber for far too long now. Then again - that's MY opinion!

I believe that it's not as important to be serious as it is to be serious ABOUT important things!

Finally, if there is but one thing you should know about me, it is simply this:

Oh well, I’m extremely open-minded, due to some recent brain surgery. My shining armor is currently at the dry cleaners, but if you’d like to fill this knight with ecstasy, drop me a line......I'm trying to get used to this dating thing again after a long hiatus. I lost my last significant other over a picknick. I called her on Saturday and said, “Sunday. Noon. Picknick.” I got to the park, spread out the blanket, opened the picknick basket, poured the wine...and waited. About 2pm, I called her on her cell phone. I asked, “Where are you?” She told me, “At Nick’s! I got here at noon just like you told me to!!!”......I like various indoor activities, like hiking, swimming, and canoeing. And I like a host of outdoor activities as well, such as bowling, and vacuuming.....I used to dine out all the time. Then I started dining in. Now, I prefer to dine....well...somewhere in the middle......I'm looking for someone to accompany me on new adventures. I’d like to try things I’ve never done before – like cordless bungee jumping!.....I love snuggling by the fireplace…especially in July or August. Things tend to heat up pretty quickly that time of year. Later on in the year, I like to actually LIGHT the fire. The one in the fireplace, too......I don't mind staying home with a good movie...unless I have a date, then I feel compelled to go pick her up!.....I tend to pay a bit TOO much attention to the pets in my house. Just this evening, as I was out taking my goldfish for a walk....that reminds me, I need to visit the pet store tomorrow...AGAIN!!!! (But that's ANOTHER story!).....Sometimes, I like to just kick back and curl up with a good book. Hmmm...did that once, and my date got REALLY upset! Guess I should have curled up with HER instead? Ya think? LOL.....All seriousness aside, now, speaking of books, well, I'm basically an open book - but if you want to find out what I'm all about, ya gotta be willing to look between the covers!!!

On a FIRST date, I'd prefer to keep it simple...somewhere relatively quiet, with a little ambulance....er, uh, I mean ambience, where we could share a few drinks and some great conversation and start to get to know one another. If it should turn out that we both look forward to that second date, well...I think I'd rather save that for later - don't want to give TOO much away just yet now, do we?
