Hi, I'm Brad. I'm single again after 3 decades of marriage and raising a family. I married young when I thought that I knew enough and I now have my life back and trying POF to see what new doors open after the other one closed. I'm fit and active and enjoy going out on weekends and doing fun activities such as attending live entertainment and dining at a variety of restaurants from a small ethnic place to five star fine dining. Weekend getaways are great also! I'm debt free and drama free and have a successful and long term career with the government, so I have weekends and holidays to date and my kids are grown, so no problems there either. I'm looking for someone who has free time also and has a good balance between work and play. Although I enjoy doing my job, I do not define myself from my job. That is what I do but that's not entirely who I am.

Here's a little something about my lifestyle and preferences so you know who I am. I'm more day than night, more hotels than camping, more active than couch potato, more city than country, living more coastal than inland, more quiet than outspoken, more small groups than large crowds, more goal setting than aimless, more healthy foods than junk foods, more soft rock than country, more stable and consistent than without roots and unpredictable, more house than condo, more independent than dependent, more left brain than right brain, more conservative than liberal, more of a thinker than intuitive, more native than foreign (I was born here),and more pleasure than business.

Actually, I work hard and play hard and I know when to leave my job at the office. I am a homeowner and the type of person who takes pride in my home. I also put an extra effort in all that I do and how I live, but not obsessively. I know when to let up and enjoy the blessings in my life. This reflects a lot on who I am and what I am. I can enjoy the simple things along with the finer things in life. My ideal friend, partner and lover should also be a person who puts that extra effort into everything that is important in her life also.

Although those are generally my preferences, and the way that I am, I also believe in a variety of new experiences and am very open minded and love doing new things. If you are similar to me, fit, and have some of the same interests, then we have something in common and a good basis for a friendship. Chemistry plays an important part also, as that is the spark that lights the fire. But as time goes by, it comes down to commitment, compatibility, communications, respect, values and morals, but those can't be explained or learned here. It can only be known once an open and honest communications takes place in a relationship. It all starts with that spark then a chat. I think a good first meeting would be to either go for a cup of coffee or go for a walk at a park or along the beach and get to know each other. I know this doesn't sound original, and I hope I'm not being evaluated for originality at our first meeting. The main thing is to spend some good quality uninterrupted time together at a place that isn't too noisy and see if we are a good match. I believe that if the chemistry is right and the conversation just flows naturally, then it's really about who you are with and not so much about what you will be doing once a real first date is decided on.
