I was raised in a town with a population that is probably less than the number of residents in my apartment building. I wouldn't change a thing about being raised in a small town, although I would never move back. I love the outdoors and being active as much as I can. I try to go camping at least once a year and absolutely love floating down a river in a tube with a beer in hand on a hot summer day. I'm a regular runner and am training for the NYC marathon but do not let running take over my life. I am looking for the type of guy who is passionate about a sports team (even better if it is the same as mine but I'm not holding my breath), is not afraid to squash creepy crawlies that enter my line of vision, likes the corner restaurant/bar more than the trendiest "now" spot, enjoys going to comedy clubs now and then, and likes to travel in the US as much as outside the US.

While people certainly get "points" for creativity on the first date, I don't expect much on what is really a blind first date. We may both want it to end quickly so meeting for a drink is perfectly fine. If there is chemistry, a second date can make up for the status-quo first date.
