I don't know about you, but the ultra-picky posts I have seen on here have gotten on my last good nerve. Sure, I understand, looks matter to an extent and there has to be attraction when it comes to romance, dating, love, sex, etc etc, but good grief! With the rate of pickiness seen in these ads from both men and women, the person who fits these rigid 'needs' probably lives in Bulgaria or New Zealand, happily married, or most likely died 100 years ago.

So what must you be or have? Yourself! Your height, weight, age, race, ethnic background are not at all important to me. I find myself attracted to all types and sorts, so it is OK if you are not 114 lbs, dirty blonde, 5'7 and 3/4 inches, and it is OK if you have a pimple, stretch marks, or a mole. You may get bonus points if you have freckles, but definitely not a requirement. My only requirement, is that you are yourself, and have decent self esteem. Someone who has some in common with me..and some differences, is ideal. I do not want a woman with everything in common...zzzzzzz..what a bore. I enjoy learning from other people's experiences and backgrounds. I am fascinated with other cultures and languages (I speak 3, yes, including English..and learning more when I can) so if you were not born in Columbus, Ohio, it is okiedokie!

What does this divorced dad enjoy? Well, besides taking care of my daughter, I have a wide variety of hobbies and interests. I am a lifelong member of Red Sox Nation...born and lived half my life in Boston. So if you are a Yankee fan, we'd have to REALLY work hard to make a friendship work. Also a huge Pats, Celtics fan. I have become a Blue Jackets fan since the city has had the team here. And of course I am a huge Buckeye fan, since I am actually an alum of the school, but my life's sun does not rise and set with college football. Yes, there is more to me than sports! I love movies but rarely get a chance to see one that is not made by Pixar/Disney, animated, or otherwise rated G. I especially like well made foreign films with little Hollywood influence, but I will watch anything that gets my attention. I'd even see a chick flick with the right person, though I'd probably enjoy the overpriced popcorn and soda more than the movie.. When the time, energy, and money planets align I also enjoy days at the museum or library (and the zoo..think lights this time of year!), festivals, trying out new restaurants, coffee, local sporting events (as you probably already guessed), travel, art and culture, occasional concerts that don't get canceled. I enjoy music and books, but admit, I have no favorite artist or author! I do have a least favorite music genre, well, two. Ask me what those are. If you guess right, you win a prize. I have a TV and watch it..but I am not a TV freak-o-matic. I like a lot of boring stuff..think A&E, Discovery, History, TruTv. Ahhh..TruTV...Forensic Files have kept me up many sleepless nights!

A few more fun facts: I lived in German Village for the past year or so until the end of last month and now am out east..I think I have made a stop in every neighborhood of the Columbus area! My dad has been having health issues so I will be helping take care of him for a couple months. I am an assistant manager for a local restaurant and I also tutor/teach Spanish and GED prep. So if you know anyone who is interested, shoot em my way. I am a graduate of Ohio State, and a proud one, but a little warning to anyone pursuing a humanities degree..don't expect big jack quick! I thoroughly enjoyed my college years but if I could do it again, I'd have went to law school. I tend to lean left politically, though I can be persuaded to play nice. I do drive a car. I do take the bus or walk by choice sometimes because the couple ounces of greenhouse gases I produce may help prevent global warming. I don't have a bike, but if I find a good used one, I'll get one. I am a non-smoker. I drink occasionally. I am not really a beer snob but can't stomach the likes of Natty Light, Milwaukee's Best, Old Milwaukee. Unless it's free.

P.S. My favorite type of music is whatever I am in the mood for at the time, which varies from day to day. My favorite TV shows probably would bore most young women, I admit. So we don't have to watch a lot of TV. My favorite season is probably spring, specifically late spring heading into summer, but fall and early winter are ok too. My favorite color is.. Wait. Do thirtysomething year old men really have a favorite color?

I try to leave that up to my date. But the new-old-fashioned coffee thing always comes to mind. Perhaps a museum. A sporting event..unless it's wrastling. Wrastling together, perhaps though? No, scratch that! Whatever seems good at the time. Movies should make a second date since you will end up knowing the character on the screen better than the character you are on a date with.
