I've been going back and forth between having fun with this and being honest. Thought I'd try something different (for this venue, I mean) and go with the honesty route. So I"ve been browsing through the ads, looking for "Attractive, financially-secure, emotionally stable female seeks stocky middle-aged white guy with emotional baggage, looks and money not important!" Of course, that ad's not to be found.

And when you get right down to it, does any of what we write really matter since the site itself tells us that ads with pictures get 15 times more attention than those without!?! What does this mean? Obviously that we are a very visually-oriented species. Has something to do with the forward-facing binocular vision, at least according to a Discovery Channel special I saw!

I'm not really "looking for" anyone specific here. I started this as somewhat of a lark and have found that the inadvertant comedy has been well worth the price of admission. I mean, really, it's probably best to not use a booking photo for these ads and one woman had a wedding dress on! Guess she was a stickler for those truth-in-advertising laws!

That said, I have already met a couple of lovely woman who, for various reasons, didn't pan out. Nice ladies, just no chemistry. If you had to pin me down, it would be nice find a relationship with some balance. Someone who is independent but likes to hold hands in public, maybe even kiss if the mood strikes. Someone who can support themselves but isn't going to throw a fit if I pay for dinner. Someone who is independent but enjoys being treated like a lady at every turn. Someone who loves to go out but can enjoy a quiet evening at home. Someone who recognizes that in addition to all these cerebral considerations there is a biological imperative that is deserving of attention as well. Someone who is equally comfortable at Hodad's down in O.B. as they would be at the Musee D'Orsay. Someone who takes what they do seriously but themselves, not so much.

Hmmm, apparently I DO know what I'm looking for.

What's appropriate on first date would be SO dependant upon the circumstances that it could range from a quick cup of coffee to running off to Paris.
