I have been called a renaissance man on more than one occasion. I have stopped mid-painting to help a friend fix the brakes on his car, and before college I was the smart jock type. I did well in school at all levels, and was always active, and that hasn't changed. I recently left a career to pursue a career in the Navy as I want to help people, and I try to keep busy outside of that. I really enjoy photography, painting, and art in general. I write poems on occasion, and love to cook. I fix my own car whenever possible, and have always been good with my hands.

As far as being on POF goes my friend recommended it after meeting his current girlfriend on here. I have been single for about 4 months and have realized since that I don't want to be with the kind of girl I've been meeting at the clubs/bars. I am honestly looking for someone genuine.

I tend to be up front about things and I prefer that people are direct with me.

Ah, first dates are fun! Let's see, I'd likely pick you up, and take you on a surprise trip to the park with my camera and see just how camera shy you are, than I'd of course have a cooler/basket packed with a picnic lunch and either go for a walk in the woods or just sit and watch the sun go down. I think first dates are when you should be getting to know each other, and a nice quiet day would be perfect for that.
