My New Year's Resolution was to be brave. So here I am.... It's September... I'm still here... I'm remaining optimistic!!!

I am a professional working in Theatre as an actor, director and teacher. I am warm, witty and smart. I like Law & Order, West Wing, Big Love, LOST, Weeds and Dexter. Eating out, watching films (mainstream and independent), reading (just finished Wally Lamb's The Hour I First Believed - beautiful!), wine tasting and conversation. I enjoy Big Band, Standards, Jazz and Oldies. Coffee, Sushi, good cheese and being cooked for. I long for stimulating conversation, romantic notes and walks on the beach. I do not like pina coladas...

Mostly, I'm hoping for a man who can make me laugh. I love to laugh.

I am dedicated to the theatre and to my students. They are my family. I am blessed with a job where I get to work with the people I love every day, doing the work that I love. I am concerned about these hard economic times and how the arts will get through it. But I believe we will.

I've recently started researching my family tree on-line and its fascinating! Seeing census from 1890 with the intimate details of my great-grandparents' lives is very moving. On my last birthday I spent time with my new 5 month old grand-niece AND walked inside the building my grandparents lived in before the Brooklyn Bridge was even started. A wonderful birthday connecting me to my heritage past and present.

I adore children (I have two beautiful grand nieces!) but I don't have any of my own. Thankfully I never felt that craving. I say thankfully because if I had the craving and didn't have a partner I would have been very torn about doing it alone. I do crave a partner, however, and always have. At this time in my life I am finally willing to put it out there and risk disappointment. The longing is stronger than the fear.

Well, that's as honest as I can get, I think. At least in a profile....
