I'm a musician with a day job that I like. Here's what I love: Going to the movies (big screen TVs just aren't the same, unless it involves room service). Eating out in fancy restaurants and the mom-and-pop ones. Good wine, but not enough to commit to memory the details. Farmers markets and TJ's, and making up new concoctions in the kitchen. Giving presents and getting massages. Riding my bike instead of driving. Fortune-telling at the county fair. The way the ocean looks and feels on the Central Coast. Getting lost in a book. Parallel play. Smart people with hearts.

If you love this stuff too, then I want to know you. Let's meet. Forget all that soul mate business for now. There's a great road that lays between being friends and being mated for life. And it's lined on both sides with side trails that wind through some fantastic terrain. So come ON!

First Date

Let's meet on a Sunday afternoon in the cafe of a book store. Get a good cup of something. Talk. Then let's go to the music section -- one with headphones. Introduce me to your all-time favorite album.

If it's a beautiful day, let's go ride bikes -- dressed in normal clothing, not that spandex stuff emblazoned with bike gear logos. We can check out a neat bike path, maybe stop someplace and share the snacks we each brought while we talk.

And if there's chemistry? Well, we'll just have to see, won't we?
