I am a veterinary medicine student leading a busy life who is impulsive and creative and looking to meet someone with whom I can build a relationship. I love concerts in small venues, blues bars, Bass ale, my cat, Thomas Hardy (and most literature), sarcasm, the ocean, kayaking, hiking, backpacking, anything the Coen brothers release, traveling, and experiencing new things.

My sense of humor falls on lines of Denis Leary, Monty Python, and Lewis Black (and the Coen brothers). My film interests are independent and cheesy comedy (I'm one of three-and-a-half people on earth who thought Juwanna Man should have won a special effects oscar). I love live music and travel frequently to L.A.to see--Frank Black, Aimee Mann, Suzanne Vega, Dan Bern. Also love John Cale, Leonard Cohen, Sia, Juliana Hatfield, Radiohead, Billie Holiday, among many others. I love playing soccer, and I gym-it three days a week. Love all animals (though spiders freak me out), orange poppies, mass amounts of pines and snow, and random acts of kindness (cliche' as it sounds). I’m active in volunteering and trying to make the world a slightly better place.

You are kind, open-minded, intelligent, (incredibly) funny, athletic, politically-aware, socially-tolerant, empathetic, and introspective. You also do not anger easily, and you are respectful, courteous, and conscious of and caring about others' feelings. You love animals, and you're not afraid to step out of your comfort zone (or your neighborhood) to experience new things (including me)--cars are made for driving. You love concerts, and you're willing to open me up to new music, films, comedy, hiking spots, and hole-in-the-wall taverns. You're also understanding about busy schedules. It's a bonus (but not a requirement) if you're into volunteering (outside of those mandated by DUI charges). (And if you favorite me on this thing, you ask me out on a date; it's kind of weird being on a dozen favorite lists and not getting an email from one of them). Hope to hear from you!

P.S. If you write, and you're in a wife-beater (or a no-beater), holding your cellphone in front of a bathroom mirror (most notably, a public bathroom mirror), or holding dead fish, or if you have a "69" in your username, or if your profile includes the sentence "I work hard and play hard," those are sort-of turnoffs for me. Sorry. Perhaps I'm becoming an online dating snob in my old age...but...yeah.

P.S.S. Apparently, I've been branded with some gold dot. I'm not sure if it's contagious or not, or if it means I got a perfect score on my POF spelling test, but it's there. And I don't know how to get rid of it. And it's mildly frightening. Anyone have any bleach?
